Missionaries Jen Cook and Joy Dodd Celebrate 13 Years of Service to Honduras

Bringing Hope to Communities in Honduras

In the heart of Honduras, amidst the vibrant culture and challenging circumstances, two remarkable missionaries, Jen Cook and Joy Dodd, are celebrating a significant milestone – 13 years of dedicated service to the people of Honduras. Their unwavering commitment, compassion, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals and communities across the region.

Since they arrived in Honduras over a decade ago, Jen and Joy have immersed themselves in the local culture, language, and customs, embracing the communities they serve with open arms and open hearts. They have steadfastly served in dangerous areas, through nationwide riots, and strict lockdowns through the pandemic. Their journey began with a simple desire to make a difference, driven by a deep sense of purpose and a calling to serve others, and they continue to serve with love and dedication.

Over the years, Jen and Joy have undertaken a wide range of ministries aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of the people they serve. From providing essential food to teaching the Bible and discipling in villages, children’s ministry in villages and children’s homes, evangelism, ministry to the elderly, and community health evangelism, their work has touched every aspect of community life.

One of the most impactful aspects of Jen and Joy’s mission has been their focus on empowering local individuals and pastors to become ministers of the Gospel within their communities and multiply themselves by producing more disciples. Through training programs, mentorship, coaching, and Biblical counseling they have equipped countless individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to create lasting positive change.

Reflecting on their journey, Jen and Joy express profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Honduras. “These 13 years have been filled with challenges and triumphs, but above all, they have been filled with love,” says Joy. “We are humbled by the resilience and strength of the Honduran people and honored to walk alongside them on this journey.”

Though Jen relocated to the United States this last year, she continues to work on behalf of Hondurans.  Bridging the gap between the US and Honduras, Jen represents the voice of the Honduran people calling out for churches and individuals to be a part of Honduran missions and projects, to become part of a mission’s team, or to help support a project.  Joy remains living in Honduras overseeing ministry projects and continues to impact the community where she lives in Roatan, Honduras

As they celebrate this milestone anniversary, Jen and Joy remain steadfast in their commitment to serving others and making a positive difference in the world. Their journey is a testament to the power of compassion, empathy, and the belief that together, we can inspire hope in Christ.

Enjoy some memories of the past 13 years:
